Lake Te Anau

Lake Te Anau is the largest of the southern glacial lakes. Te Anau The township sits on the edge of Lake Te Anau, lying on the border of Fiordland National Park and Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Area. Its name was originally Te Ana-au, Maori for 'The cave of swirling water'.
